CleanMax Solar, India's largest supplier ofsolar power to corporates, has commissioned Karnataka's first solarfarm, and has begun power supply to Mindtree, a leading technologyservices and digital transformation company.
The solar farm is located in Tumkur district, and has a totalcapacity of 30 MW. Power will be supplied via the BESCOM grid toconsumers in Bengaluru like Mindtree.
The supply of solar power began in August, and will satisfy 75per cent of the power requirement at the Whitefield campus ofMindtree. It is a significant step towards sustainable energy forMindtree, and it is the first IT company in India to source such alarge proportion of power from solar for a single facility.
The solar power supply to Mindtree will reduce approximately 2800tons of carbon footprint annually, and will also generatesignificant energy cost savings for Mindtree, without incurring anycapital expenditure, a company release said here today.
CleanMax's solar farm has been developed under the KarnatakaSolar Policy, which waives transmission and wheeling charges andcross-subsidy charges for solar power for 10 years, for solar farmscommissioned prior to 31st March, 2018. CleanMax has already begunwork on its second solar farm in the state, and is planningadditional installations of more than 200 MW in the state in thenext 18 months.UNI RS MSP RSS1450
