SAP's India Co-Innovation Lab completes eventful 1st year
Bangalore | Wednesday, May 5 2010 IST

The Co-Innovation Lab of SAP Labs India, in its first year of existence has successfully completed 24 projects, contributing 30 per cent of the projects produced in similar co-innovation labs of the business software giant across the world.

In India, SAP's partners Arteria Technologies, MindTree and Wipro worked jointly with developers at the lab to create cutting-edge solutions, including insurance claims analytics solution and a new workflow and mobility solution,Head of SAP Global Innovation Labs Axel Henning Saleck said, talking to news persons.

After one year of its operation, the city-based co-innovation lab, the third after SAP's Palo Alto in the US and Tokyo facilities, had played a catalyst role in customers and partners in India, he said. The Bangalore lab had made a jump start with many customer needed solutions coming out of the lab, harnessing the power of the local and global partners operating out of India. A pool of Indian talent had come out with successful solutions based on SAP platform, he said.

''What we have achieved in the very first year of operation is remarkable. All completed co-innovation projects have moved from a lab experiment stage to solutions, which customers can readily deploy now,'' he said.

SAP India Managing Director V R Ferose said the country was witnessing an explosive growth in the software industry and there was a clear need to foster collaboration and develop customer ready solutions.
