Minister assures urging Centre to felicitate Sachin
Mumbai | Friday, Mar 19 2010 IST

The Maharashtra Government today promised to urge the Central Government to felicitate batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar for being the first cricketer to score a double century in one-day cricket.

Congress MLC Sanjay Dutt had brought up the issue of urging the Central Government to felicitate Tendulkar on his achievement to which Maharashtra Minister of Minorities and Textiles Mohd Arif Naseem Khan gave the assurance in the Legislative Council.

Tendulkar had recently become the first ever cricketer to score a double century in One Day Internationals when he made 200 against South Africa in Gwalior in the recently concluded series.
