India PRP disrupts AP Assembly over ''Free zone'' issue
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for a brief period today as members of the opposition Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) stalled the proceedings to protest adoption of resolution urging the Centre to amend the Presidential Order of 1975 without any discussion in the House yesterday. As soon as the House assembled for the day, PRP members rushed to the podium displaying placards and staged a sit-in protest in the Well of the House against the Congress Government in the State for allegedly steamrolling a one-line resolution, urging the Centre to delete clause(f) of Para 14 of the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) order, 1975, "without giving an opportunity to the PRP to register its protest." After repeated appeals to protesting PRP members to go back to their seats, Speaker N Kirankumar Reddy adjourned the House for 15 minutes. -- (UNI) -- 19MS42.xml
