India Day curfew lifted in Bareilly, situation normal
The day curfew in four police station areas of this Uttar Pradesh district was totally lifted in view of the situation being restored to normal. The district administration today relaxed the curfew for 17 hours from 0500 hrs to 2200 hrs, Bhanu Pratap Singh, the Inspector General of Police (IG), Bareilly range told UNI. He said no untoward incident was reported in the curfew-bound areas and elsewhere since last many days. The schools and colleges in the city will reopen from March 22, he added. Today was the 18th day when the curfew was imposed in Bardarai, Kila, Kotwali and Premnagar police stations on March 2 following communal clash during a religious procession. The administration had also clamped Prohibitory Orders in Subhash Nagar area, while elaborate security arrangements had been made at every nook and corner of the curfew-bound areas and elsewhere in the city. -- (UNI) -- 19DR10.xml
