India Tax exemption to be continued to film having Tamil title
The Tamil Nadu Government would continue to provide entertainment tax exemption to films having titles in Tamil to encourage the film industry. Finance Minister K Anbazhagan while addressing the budget session for the year 2010-11, said with a view to encourage the industry which generates thousands of jobs, films having title in Tamil would continue to be exempted from the entertainment tax. He said the government had provided 90 acres of land near Chennai for constructing multi-storeyed residential apartments for those engaged in film and television industry including workers. He also pointed out that a welfare fund for television artists with a corpus of Rs one crore and a welfare board for artists for film and television industries have been established. -- (UNI) -- 19MS9.xml
