Mayawati sacks K'taka BSP Spokesman
Bangalore | Thursday, Mar 18 2010 IST

BSP Supremo Mayawati today sacked Party Karnataka Spokesperson Y N Sharma for his alleged comments over the huge garland made of new crisp Rs 1,000 notes worth Rs five crore or more presented to her in Lucknow early this week.

According to party sources, he was sacked after he had said the money was collected from contribution from grassroot level workers in the country.

However, Mr Sharma had a different version and denied he had made any statement against the party supremo.

Speaking to UNI, he confirmed his being relieved of the post with immediate effect, but said he had only clarified the garland was not sent from Karnataka.

Disturbed over the party action, he said it amounted to his 'unceremonious' exit and alleged there was no place for Brahmins in BSP.

''I will fight this out. There is no democracy in the party.

Brahmins never got their due as promised by the President of BSP,'' he alleged.
