India Pondy Med College to start functioning from Sep
The Pondicherry Medical College will start functioning from September this year with an intake of 150 students, Health and Home Minister E Valsaraj said today. Talking to newspersons after inspecting the ongoing construction of the building here, Mr Valsaraj said work had been stepped up as a team of the Medical Counicl of India (MCI) would visit the college for inspection next month. Of the Rs 126 crore that was allocated, Rs 110 crore had been spent and another Rs 100 crore was required. This would be allocated in the next financial year, he added. Health Secretary Vijayan and Director of Health Services Dilip Kumar Baliga accompanied the Minister.
