One week ultimatum to settle compensation claims

The president of Gram Panchayat Mangal has warned the Jai Prakash company to settle the pending claims of affected families which were yet to get the compensation for their land being used for cement plant being set up at Bag Balg.

Mr Mangal issued second warning to this affect here yesterday that during their meeting with the both party on February 6 in presence of Deputy Commissioner Solan, it has asked the company to settle the claims with in one week but it failed to do so.

He said the affected families have not received any compensation with this regard and if company fails to do so drinking water supply would be disconnected to the plant.
