Decision on Bt Brinjal based on consultations: Congress
New Delhi |Tuesday, 2010 8:05:06 PM IST

The Congress said Tuesday that the government's decision to put indefinite moratorium on commercial release of Bt Brinjal has been taken after wide consultations.

We can't say the decision is good or bad. The government has taken the decision in its wisdom after considering all issues and consulting the scientific fraternity, Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told IANS.

He said the public health should be the main concern of any decision taken by the government.
