CEAT posts Rs 24 cr net profit in Q3

Tyremaker CEAT Ltd today announced a net profit of Rs 24.02 crore registered in the third quarter of the current financial year. ''Despite a steep hike in raw material prices, we have managed good numbers because of improved sales mix and operational efficiency. We are hopeful of posting our best ever results in the current year,'' company MD Paras K Chowdhary said.

Net sales rose 26.65 per cent at Rs 739.83 crore in Q3FY10 against Rs 584.15 crore in Q3FY09, the company said in a statement.

Set up in 1958, CEAT Tyres manufactures over 10 million tyres every year and enjoys a major market share in the light truck and truck tyre market. CEAT, the flagship company of RPG Enterprises, has three manufacturing plants--Mumbai (Bhandup), Nasik and Sri Lanka. Currently, the company exports tyres to nearly 110 countries across the US, Europe, Africa and other parts of Asia.
