Two detained under PSA in Katra

Police today apprehended two people under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Katra town of mountainous Reeasi District of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources here said.

Based on tip-off, police today launched a drive against miscreants in Katra town and arrested the duo under Public Safety Act, sources said.

The arrested persons were identified as Madal Lal alias Madhi, resident of village Naley-Katra and he has been detained under PSA by the District Magistrate via order number PSA/2009/12.

He was one of the anti-social elements and was indulged in the activities of smuggling of liquor and anti social activities, police said.

Meanwhile another criminal identified as Vishal Sharma, resident of ward number 4, Katra was also detained under Public Safety Act vide order number PSA/2009/13.
