Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will arrive in India on an official visit starting January 10 to 13. It will be Hasina's first visit to India since her party registered an emphatic victory in December 2008 elections.

Issues like measures for counter terrorism and organized crime are likely to figure prominently during the talks between Bangladesh and Indian leadership.

The talks will be culmination of the proposed talks between the two neighbour countries, which is to include signing of three agreements and a MoU, said sources.

The three agreements will be related to have an extradition treaty, extending mutual legal assistance in crime related matters, measures to combat global terrorism, organized crime and illegal drug-trafficking.

An important aspect of the visit will also be to concentrate on providing the line of credit for railway projects and supply of locomotives.

Moreover, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on mutual cooperation in power sector is also scheduled to be signed between the two countries.

Meanwhile, ahead of Hasina's scheduled visit, Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Friday said Dhaka has assured New Delhi that its territory will not be allowed to be used by anti-India elements.

"We have been assured that Bangladesh territory will not be used by elements inimical to India while we pursue mutually beneficial relationship," said Krishna at the annual conclave of the Indian Diaspora in New Delhi.

During her visit, the Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina will meet President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister S.M.Krishna, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and Railway Minister Mamta Banerjee, former Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral.
