India Amritsar continues to shiver at minus 1.2 degrees C
The holy city of Amritsar continued to shiver under sub zero temperature even as the minimum temperatures in other parts of the state increased marginally last night. Amritsar was cold at minus 1.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum at Adampur rose marginally to register at 2.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal. The minimum at Halwara also went to register at 6.0 degrees Celsius, which was normal. Minimum in the border town of Pathankot plummeted to 4.2 degrees celsius while at Bhatinda in the Malwa belt it rose marginally to 4.2 degrees. The minimum in the capital city of Chandigarh also went up and was recorded at 4.2 degrees. Dense fog disrupted road and rail traffic in several parts of the state early this morning and the day is expected to remain cloudy.
