2 rail accidents: 4 trains involved, 20 injured
Lucknow | Saturday, Jan 2 2010 IST

Over 20 passengers were injured in two accidents involving four superfast trains on the busy Kanpur- Delhi grand truck rail route due to fog this morning.

The first accident occurred near Etawah when Lichvi Express dashed against the stationary Magadh Express while in the second incident Gorakhdham Express collided with the rear coaches of the Prayagraj Express near Kanpur.

Unconfirmed reports also said at least two people have died in these accidents but the Railway authorities were yet to confirm it.

North Central Railway (NCR) PRO R D Bajpai told UNI here that the accidents occurred due to the dense fog prevailing in the section. He said relief trains have been rushed while injured have been admitted to the hospitals.
