India Bangalore ventriloquist eyes on Guinness Book of Records
Indu Shree, a magician and ventriloquist in Bangalore has finally set her eyes on entering the Guinness Book of World Records through her stunning performance with a 10 feet doll. She claimed that none of the magicians has achieved a similar before. Recently presenting a show with the doll, which resembles mythological character "Mahishasura", a demon who was killed by Goddess Chamundeswari, Indushree said she developed the idea of using Mahishasura when she was invited to present a show during the Dasara festivities. Shree, who has been performing the art for the last 15 years and has over 3,000 shows to her credit, says that art should be promoted. "Its a dying art. Future of ventriloquism is really not very good. People should develop the interest in ventriloquism because this art is something where you can utilise this art and give message, awareness, entertainment, everything," she said. She said that she has sent the details to the Guinness book of records and is awaiting response. "I am planning to get into Guinness book of records. I have hopes definitely because nobody else in the world has tried it, it involves lot of pain. So I think I'll be getting it," she added. Shree further hopes that her form of presentation will not only bring laurels to her art but also attract people' interest towards this dying art. She already has etched her name in the Limca Book of Records. Ventriloquism is one of the toughest forms of art that puts enormous amount of strain on the throat, back and shoulders of the performer. It's an act of stagecraft in which a person (a ventriloquist) manipulates his or her voice so that it appears that the voice is coming from elsewhere. (ANI)
