Several injured in clash during polling in MP district
Morena | Friday, Dec 11 2009 IST

More than 12 people, including a few police officials, were today injured during a clash between workers of the Congress, the BJP and the BSP, over bogus voting during polling for civic bodies elections in this district, police said.

A scuffle broke among the activists of the three parties at ward no 33 polling station in J S Public School. Police resorted to lathicharge to control the situation. Two policemen were injured during stone-pelting. A few people fired gunshots in air to create disturbance near the spot. Polling was disturbed for about half-an-hour. Police have detained three candidates from the post councillor -- Manji Halke (BSP), Soneram Prajapati (BJP) and Ramveer (Congress).
