Kannada portal launched

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today launched a portal in Kannada on the lines of wikipedia to provide data on the state and its culture.

The portal, first of its kind in the country, has the capacity for carrying more than one crore articles on Kannada and its culture and would help in promoting the bond among the Kannada speaking community all over the world.

Chairman of the Karnataka Knowledge Commission K Kasturirangan expressed happiness over the launch of the portal as it was one of the recommendation of the Commission.

He said the state government should help setting up a permanent and professional arrangement for the development of the Kannada portalin the future.
