CBI, DGCA conducting inquiries in YSR aircrash

Two inquiries are being conducted in the air crash involving late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR Reddy -- one by the CBI and the other by the DGCA, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said in a reply that the accident was a tragic one and the particular flight was cleared for visual flight operation when the weather condition was not good.

He said all accidents were investigated in accordance with the Aircraft Rules, 1937, while action is taken on the recommendations emanating from the investigation to prevent future accidents.
