Karnataka in command against Maharashtra in Ranji trophy

Responssible knocks by its batsmen helped Karnataka to score 473 for 4 against Maharashtra on the second day of the four-day Ranji trophy Elite B Group league match being played here today. For Karnataka K B Pawan scored 152, G Satish 141 and Amit Verma unbeaten 101. B Akhil 24 was giving company to Verma at the draw of stumps.

After losing Robin Uthappa zero, yeterday, it was Pawan and G Satish batted with tenacity and added 284 runs for the second wicket. The opener Pawan played some brillinat drive on both sides of the wicket and rattled 17 four in his 282 ball knock of 152. Another batsman G Satish scored 141 which was studded with 22 powerful hits to the ropes. The strongly built Fallah, however, removed Pawan who snicked a catch to keeper Motwani with Karnataka score reading 295. Amit Verma also hammered an undefeated knock of 101 from 209 balls which had 11 fours and one six. Satish was claimed by spinner Kiran Adhav who caught at the extra cover. Mahesh Pamdey joined Verma but was run out when on 32 A bawne managed to hit the stumps with a direct throw from mid wicket.
