India Cong backlashes Mayawati, advises to stop accusing party
Backlashing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for terming it responsible behind the disputed structure demolition incident at Ayodhya, the Congress today advised her to first peep into her acts. UP Congress chief spokesman Subodh Srivastava in a statement here said, ''Ms Mayawati from time to time has done adjustment with the communal forces.'' ''How can she claim to be the well-wisher of the Muslims,'' he questioned. The false claims of the BSP supremo indicate her duel character, the Congress spokesperson alleged. He said, Ms Mayawati should first recall history and peep into her doings before raising a finger at the Congress. Everbody had seen how the UP CM stood by BJP during confidence motion in the Parliament during the Nuclear Deal issue, he asserted. Infact, she became CM for the three times on the basis of the communal forces, Mr Srivastava said while advising her to stop playing the blame game. Earlier in the day Ms Mayawati had said, Congress was more responsible than BJP in the demolition of the Babri structure at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992. Breaking her silence after a long time Ms Mayawati had said, her party would accept any decison given by the judiciary on the vexed issue but questioned the integrity of the Congress first by leaking the Librehan Commission report and then was ' mum' on the Action Taken Report (ATR). Addressing a press conference here, Ms Mayawati alleged that there was a nexus between the Congress and BJP on the Ayodhya issue and the Samajwadi Party was the third outfit trying to take political mileage. '' Ayodhya issue has been just a vote bank politics for the Congress, BJP and SP and they are staging a drama before the people after the tabling of the Commission's report,'' the UP CM said. She also claimed, Congress was the main culprit for throwing the country into communal frenzy after its government opened lock at the disputed structure in 1986 and the then Congress Prime Minister and Union Home Minister permitted to hold the Shilanayas there. -- (UNI) -- 25DR97.xml
