India Deve Gowda to expose illegal mining by ministers
Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda today said he would take up the matter of illegal mining in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka allegedly committed by the Ministers in the BJP Government. Talking to newspersons here, Janata Dal(S) National President said the people of the two states had now realised the true colours of the mining mafia, which has now 'usurped' a prominent place in politics with the help of politicians supporting them during the past one decade. ''When the issue comes up in the current session, I will highlight the illegal mining taken up by the Karnataka Ministers - Janardhana Reddy, Karunakara Reddy and B Sriramulu - through their Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC). People who are looting the natural resources of the country should be exposed,'' he said. Stating that the BJP Government in the State had failed to put an end to illegal mining, he said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa was a ''helpless'' person now in front of the money clout of the mining lobby. -- (UNI) -- 22MS20.xml
