Four women drown in river

Four women drowned in river Krishna at Amaravathi temple town in this district of Andhra Pradesh today.

Police said the women working in a jewellery shop in the city went to the temple town along with his shop owner and three others for picnic. The mishap occurred when they were having holy-dip in the river.

The deceased were identified as Sindhu, Bharani, Santhi and Rajani, all in the age group of 20-22.

The bodies were removed and sent to Government hospital at Amaravathi for post- mortem, police added.
