Modi performed ground breaking ceremony of Jindal Rail

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had a hectic day today in Vadodara attending various ceremonies in different parts of the district organised by industrial sectors.

Mr Modi in the morning performed a groundbreaking ceremony of Jindal Rail infrastructure Limited's rail wagon manufacturing plant, to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 2700 crore, at Karjan, 30 km from Vadodara.

The proposed JRIL rail project is an out come of memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the company and Gujarat Government at Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit-2009 at Ahmedabad. The factory is expected to roll out as many as 3,000 rail wagons per year.

In another function, Mr Modi inaugurated new production lines of passenger and bus truck tyres at the production unit of Apollo Tyres located at Limda in Vaghodia taluka. Significantly, this ultra modern plant has planned to produce giant tyres with the length of eight feet and weighing one thousand kg.

The Chief Minister opened All Gujarat Institute of Driving, Technical Training and Research, a joint venture of Gujarat Government and Maruti Suzuki India limited aimed to provide training to tribal youth of modern technology of vehicle maintenance, car repairing and driving. Department of Tribal Development has allocated Rs. 16.35 crore for the construction of this modern unit which houses 18 class rooms, modern workshop, laboratory and separate hostel for boys and girls. The 25 acres complex is constructed near Gajadara of Vaghodia taluka, in Vadodara.
