Assam Police suspect nine ULFA terrorists behind Nalbari blasts
Guwahati | November 22, 2009 1:25:14 PM IST

Assam Police on Sunday suspected the involvement of nine most wanted United Liberation Front of Assom (ULFA) terrorists behind the Nalbari serial blasts.

Earlier in the day, three-bomb blasts in Nalbari killed five people and left over 30 people injured.

Assam police, insist that the outfit was desperately trying to carry out a few strikes in the run-up to their protest day on Friday.

They suspect that Sunday's blasts can be a reaction to the recent arrests of some senior leaders, including Sasha Choudhury and Chitrabon Hazarika.

On November 17, a blast took place on the railway tracks near Changpool in Golaghat district leading to the burning of train wagons carrying fuel from Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. (ANI)
