Witness stands ground in Sacha Sauda 'sadhvi' case
Ambala | Saturday, Nov 21 2009 IST

The difficulties of Sirsa based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim Gurmit Singh seem to have increased as an important witness. Paramjit Singh stood to his statements with regard to sex exploitation case of the 'sadhvis' of the Dera, in a CBI court here today.

He had leveled serious allegations against the dera chief as a witness. Today he was cross-examined by the defence counsels during which he stood to his statement given earlier in the special CBI court. The court has fixed December 4 as next date for hearing.

Earlier, Paramjit had also been deposed in the Ranjit murder case in which Dera chief is also facing serious allegations for the conspiracy.

Paramajit in this case also stood to his earlier statement given before the court. The defence had cross-examined him during the arguments yesterday. In Ranjit murder case, the next date of hearing was fixed for November 24. The Dera chief is also facing murder charges in the Ram Chander Chhatarpati case.

All the accused were present in the CBI court here today.

Proceedings of the court were also conducted through video conferencing and the Dera chief appeared in a Sirsa court. For security reasons he was given the video conferencing facility.
