India State Govts equally responsible for price rise: Minister
The state governments are equally responsible for the rising prices of various commodities in the country, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries Arun Yadav said today. Talking to UNI on his visit to Sendhwa region near here, the minister said a check on the activities of the hoarders of various commodities would solve the problem of rising prices of commidities. He said the Madhya Pradesh government had seized thousand of quintals of hoarded sugar during raids conducted in various parts of the state recently. Lack of rainfall in many parts of the state had its impact on the prices of the commodities. Mr Yadav said the Centre had already decided to import pulses, rice and sugar which would solve the problem of price rise to a large extent. There was no proper implementation of the centrally-sponsored National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in Madhya Pradesh which had deprived the benefits of the scheme to the farmers he said. -- (UNI) -- 21DR82.xml
