India Police should be trained in guerrilla warfare : Raman
In wake of the prevailing menace of Naxalism in the country, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today said the affected states should train the police with guerrilla tactics. He emphasised on better techniques of surrender and special attention on development works in these states. Talking to media, Mr Raman said to combat the Maoists, who were expert in guerrilla warfare, the police should also be imparted the similar training. He said Kanker district in Chhattisgarh has a special training centre for this purpose. Other states should also open such centres, he suggested. Mr Raman said the government should prepare better ways for the surreder of Maoists. He said solution to the naxalism problem can only be found through talks and comprehensive developmental programmes.
