India President arrives in Goa on 4-day maiden visit
President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today arrived in Goa on her maiden 4-day visit. She was accorded a warm reception at the Dabolim airport by governor S S Sidhu, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and his cabinet colleagues. She was given a ceremonial reception at the airport at the Naval Enclave by the Indian Navy, which controls the airport. She would stay put at the Raj Bhavan all the days. She would be accorded a civic reception on November 23 by the state government and self-governing bodies and later presented with honorary doctorate (D.Litt) by the Goa University the next day during its annual convocation ceremony before she leaves for Pune. -- (UNI) -- 21BY23.xml
