Amethi | Saturday, Nov 21 2009 IST

In a major security breach, a police vehicle dashed against the vehicle of Ms Priyanka Gandhi Vadra near Gauriganj today.

However, Ms Vadra was not in her vehicle, when the accident occured.

The security goof-up is likely to cause flutter in the wake of the complaint made by the Centre to the UP government over lapses on part of the state police to provide VVIP security to Rahul Gandhi during his visits in February and August last.

According to officials none was injured in the collision even as Mr K L Sharma, representative of Ms Sonia Gandhi was sitting in the car.

A police vehicles of the VVIP convoy dashed against the Green SUV damaging the vehicle. Yesterday Ms Vadra had driven this vehicle from Fursatganj airport to Gauriganj.

This time state police had made unprecedent security arrangments for the VVIP during his two days visit to his constituency with media and local people kept kilometers away from the MP.

Meanwhile, Priyanka was attending a Self Help Group(SHG) function at Khalispur village near Fursatganj today. She along with her brother and Congress general secretry Rahul Gandhi had attended two similar functions in the constitutuency yesterday.

Later she will review the progress of the Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Programme at Jais this afternoon.

In the evening, she will attend the marriage ceremony of the daughter of one of her employee in New Delhi at Musafirkhana area before leaving for New Delhi.
