India Mens compound team wins gold medal
India won a gold and two silver medals in the team championship of the 16th Asian Archery championship at Bali today. The Indian mens compound team, comprising C Srither, Kh Ratan Singh and Isiah R Sanam won the gold medal by overcoming Iran 231-230 in the final. The Indian mens recurve team, comprising Rahul Banerjee, Jayanta Talukdar and Mangal Singh Champia, lost to Korea in the final at 219-222 and settled for the silver medal. The second silver medal came through the womens compound team, comprising Jhano Hansdah, Namita Yadav and Manjudha Soy. The trio lost the final to Korea 215-223. The Indian womens recurve side failed to bag the bronze medal after losing to China in the play-off.
