Goa earn 3 points against Rajasthan in drawn match

Goa had to be content with three points by virtue of their first innings lead over Rajasthan when the four-day Ranji plate ''A'' group cricket match ended in a tame draw on the last day, today, at the MCC ground in South Goa.

Goa increased their points tally to seven from three outings while Rajasthan earned one points from the drawn match and took their tally to six points from equal number of outings.

Goa in their first innings scored 338 all out and then restricted Rajathan for 225 yesterday and gained a first innings lead of 113 runs.

Goa, resuming at the overnight score of 7 for no loss, managed to score 212 losing 9 wickets in 65 overs addding 205 runs to the overnight score when the play was called off as both the captains agreed for a draw on the last day of the match.

Except Swapnil Asnodkar 47 (6x4,97b), Robin D Souza not out 40 (6x4,59b), Saurab Bandekar 28 (2x4,1x6) and Shadab Jakati 22, no other batsmen made any significant contribution as a host of other batsmen fell cheaply at a regular intervals.

Gajendra Singh 4 for 46 and Panakaj Singh 2 for 40 were the most succesful bowlers for the visitors. Vinod Chanwaria and Madhur Kathri claimed one wicket each.
