India Mahrashtra-Saurashtra match ends in draw
Riding on Kedar Jadhav's (111) unbeaten century in the second innings, Maharashtra managed to draw their match against Saurashtra on the final day of the four-day super league Ranji Trophy Match at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium here today. Maharashtra were bowled out in their first innings at 289 after starting the innings at the overnight score of 266 for seven. Saurashtra enforced the follow-on and at one stage they were looking good when Maharashtra were reeling at 48 for three, but thanks to Kedar Jadhav, who stood like a rock, he denied Saurashtra to fulfill their dream. Saurashtra had to satisfy with three points from this match by virtue of their first innings lead and carry their points tally to four from two outings while Maharashtra got one point from this match. On a placid wicket, Saurashtra bowlers failed to grab the opportunities of the winning match and managed to scalp five wickets in the second innings as Maharashtra rode on Kedar Jadhav's unbeaten 111 to crawl to 162 for five in 69 overs and fetch the match in a draw. Both the Teams have decided to called it after the sixth mandatory over bowled. Earlier, Mahrashtra's first innings were folded up at 289 after addition of 23 runs. Maharashtra started their second innnings on a dismal note as their two batsmen went cheaply when score was eight run on board. Harshad Khadiwale bowled by medium pacer S Jobanputra for his individual score of three, while left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took Rohan Bhosale wicket, who was caught by Chirag Pathak (01). Sangram Atitkar and Kedar Jadhav denied further jolts as both were playing with ease and added 40 runs for the third wicket before former got an outside edge and was safely taken by wicket keeper S Jogiyani off left arm spinner Rakesh Dhruve. He has made eleven. Ankit Bawane and Rohit Motwani both went cheaply and they were victims of left arm spinner R Dhruve as the former was bowled while latter was stumped while he stepped out to hit the ball. They had made 12 and seven runs respectively. Kedar Jadhav and Ganesh Gaikwad remained not out for 111 and 17 runs respectively. K Jadhav's innings was studded with 18 fours and one mighty six and has faced 203 balls. Rakesh Dhruve took three wickets for 71, while medium pacer S Jobanputra and left arm spinner Ravindra jadeja took one wicket each by conceding eight and 22 runs.
