Security to be tightened for municipal poll

Police today made elaborate security arrangements for smooth conduct of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) elections scheduled on November 23.

Talking to newspersons here, City Police Commissioner B Prasada Rao said, besides local police, three companies of Rapid Action Force(RAF) and three teams from Octopus would be deployed for the elections Mr Rao said security has been tightened to prevent any untoward incidents. He said wine shops would remain closed for three days from November 21.

Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC would be imposed on the polling day, he added.
