India CTD cancels registration of 9 petrol bunks
The Commercial Tax Department(CTD) of the Territorial Administration today cancelled the registration of nine petrol bunks which failed to clear the sales tax arrears to the Government. According to an official press release here, the Registration Officer of the Commercial Tax Department for Puducherry and Karaikal region cancelled the registration of seven petrol bunks in Puducherry and two in Karaikal with effect from different dates of November nine, ten, 12 and 17. The department also moved the court to recover the sales tax dues from the petrol bunk owners. However, as it was subjudice the details of the arrears could not be revealed, the release said, adding the arrears to the tune of several crores of rupees were pending.
