Bahuguna to visit Nagaland on Nov 11

A delegation of environmentalists, led by veteran environmentalist Sundarlal Bahuguna, is slated to visit Nagaland on November 11 as a part of his tour to the Himalayan states. According to sources here today, Mr Bahuguna has taken up a campaign to sensitise the people of the fragile ecology of Himalayan region and the need to protect it. The delegation is planning to travel to all the Himalayan states and neighbouring countries to hold consultations with the heads of governments, noted citizens, media and civil societies in an attempt to invoke environmental awareness and consolidate opinions on the need to push for specific developmental policies for the region in view of increasing threats to the eco-system, lives and livelihood.
