Mahila Trinamool Cong workers stage demo at circuit house

Breaching all security arrangements, Mahila Trinomool Congress workers staged a demonstation at Midnapore circuit house, where West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is staying, this evening, demanding immediate release of four Yuva Trinamool Congress activists, who were arrested for showing black flags to Mr Bhattacharjee.

After long deliberations with the police, Mahila Trinamool Congress workers, led by their leader Mou Ray, were able to obtain the release of all the four arrested Yuva Trinamool Congress supporters. The law and order situation in Jungle Mahal ares of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia was discussed today inside the circuit house in the presence of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of Police, DMs and SPs of the three districts. The Chief Minister informed the media here that he would meet newspersons tomorrow morning after another rounds of talks on developmental programmes of Jungle Mahal areas. Meanwhile, suspected Maoists pumped bullets on Subhas Soren, Ex CPI(M) MLA and at present Gopiballavpur Zonal Secretary, near Beliabera under Gopiballavpur police station at about 2000 hrs today while he was returning home after attending a party meeting.

West Midnapore District SP M K Varma said Soren received bullet injuries on his waste.

He was immediately rushed to the Jhargram Sub Divisional Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Later, he was addmitted to the Midnapore Medical College and Hospital.
