Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed officials to keep more vigil on the border areas and sensitise the health officials about the awareness drive to handle effectively swin flu cases in the state. A high level meeting chaired by Mr Patnaik decided to impart training to the ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers in the village on the Swine Flu disease and take all possible steps to prevent spread of the disease to other areas. The decision to engage the ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and the health officials in the villages was taken as 16 people were reportedly tested positive in the state, nine of them from the tribal dominated Sundargarh district. Orissa Health and Family Welfare Minister Prasanna Kumar Acharaya said the border areas with Sundargarh had been sealed to prevent swine flu from spreading to other areas. The state government had decided to constitute 105 Rapid Response team in the district level and five such team at the state level to rush to the affected areas in case of emergency. At least 46 license holder medicine shops in the state were authorised by the government to sell Tami Flu tablets.
