HP rural sports at Una from November 12 to 15 Shimla | Saturday, Nov 7 2009 IST
The second state level rural sports tournaments under 'Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan' (PYKKA) would be organised at Una from November 12 to 15, 2009 in which 1050 U-18 participants from rural areas of the state are participating. This was stated by, Director Youth Services and Sports, J R Katwal here today. He said the objective is to select cream players from rural areas of the State and brush-up their abilities and skill to make them represent for the State as well as the country in various sports. He said besides the participants around 150 officials would also be part of the tournament. Besides Athletics, sports disciplines as Taekwondo, Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Judo, Wrestling, Badminton, Boxing and Hockey would be organized during the tournament. Apart from this, the State team comprising of 45 players of Basketball, Wrestling, Taekwando and Athletics would be leaving for Chennai on November 17, 2009 to participate in 2nd National Rural Sports Tournaments under PYKKA Group-1. -- (UNI) -- 07SPD38.xml
