India Orissa BJP president condemns arrest of party MLA
Orissa BJP president Suresh Pujari today strongly condemned the arrest of party MLA and former Transport Minister Jaya Narayan Mishra along with several party activists during the visit of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to inaugurate the Golden Jublee celebration of VSS Medical college at Burla. Mr Pujari told newspersons here that Mr Mishra, being the local MLA, was invited to the function as one of the guests, but it was more shocking that he along with hundreds of BJP activists were taken into preventive custody by the police prior to the visit of the Chief Minister. He said the party would oppose the chief minister wherever he visited as the farmers in the state were committing suicide almost every day following crop failure and the pest attack, but the government was taking the matter very lightly. -- (UNI) -- 06CA59.xml
