India Rs 1.12 lakh fake currency seized, five arrested so far
With the arrest of one more person today, police have so far nabbed five people for alleged involvement in fake currency racket flourishing in this district, and recovered fake currency of Rs 1.12 lakh. According to police sources, a man identified as Gopal was arrested and seized Rs 27,200 fake currency from him in Patiala district of Punjab. Earlier, police had arrested Ravi Kumar, a Computer Engineer and lecturer in ITI, who is believed to be the master-mind behind the fake currency scam. They also recovered Rs 34,800 fake currency from Ravi, who is also an expert in scanning currency on fine quality paper. Recently, one Labh Singh was also arrested with fake currency of Rs 13,000 and in the recently concluded Kapal Mochan fair here, Rs 37,000 fake currency was recovered.
