India Subsidised rice and wheat in MP
In view of skyrocketing prices, the Madhya Pradesh government today decided to sell subsidised wheat and rice here and in other cities. At a meeting of departmental officials, Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies Paraschand Jain directed checking of costs. In rural areas, subsidised rice and wheat are already being provided under the Below Poverty Line and Above Poverty Line schemes. Such supply will begin here and at Jabalpur on November 12. Wheat will be sold at Rs 13.50 per kg and wheat at Rs 17.40. To prevent any tout or profiteer from exploiting the situation, the wheat will be sold in packets of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 50 kg. No individual will be sold more than 50 kg. The sale will take place at outlets of the State Civil Supplies Corporation (MPSCSC) Ltd and Priyadarshini Upbhokta Bhandar. The Food Corporation of India and MPSCSC will supply the rice and wheat. -- (UNI) -- 05DR73.xml
