India Court not rejected chargesheet filed against Chamundi: ACP
In response to the electronic media reports that the first Additional Chief Metropolitan Court (ACMC) this evening rejected the chargesheet filed by the Machavaram police yesterday against V Chamundeswaranath, former Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) General Secretary and Manager of T20 World Cup, on 'technical reasons', City (Central) Assistant Commissioner of Police A Subba Rao termed the reports as ''totally false''. Talking to UNI here tonight, Mr Rao said the chargesheet was filed against Mr Chamundeswaranath for alleged sexual harassment of women cricketers, as per the directions of Andhra Pradesh High Court. He said Mr Chamundeswaranath would be arrested if the local court permits the police to do so. The police had filed the chargesheet in the court on the basis of an investigation into the case registered under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty, 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC in response to a complaint made by women cricketers. -- (UNI) -- 05MS43.xml
