Pak people paying for its wrong policy: Azad
Jammu | Thursday, Nov 5 2009 IST

People of Pakistan are paying a heavy price for its ''wrong policy'' of patronising terrorism against Jammu and Kashmir, Union Health and Medical Education Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said.

''The terror situation patronised and encouraged by the Pakistan Army and their rulers in the past which resulted into deaths of a large number of innocent civilians of Jammu and Kashmir, is now devouring their own society and their public is suffering because of the wrong policy of the perpetrators of terror,'' Mr Azad said at a public function on the occasion of 'Shaheedi Divas', at Kathua.

Paying tributes to the martyrs in the border district, Mr Azad said since 1947, Pakistan had been continuously making attempt to forment violence and initiated wars in 1965, 1971 as well as in Kargil in 1999.

''The infiltrators during last 20 years were always patronized by Pakistan to enter our territory and kill randomly not only army personnel, SPOs, security and JK Police personnel, but also innocent civilians irrespective of their age,'' he said.

India always believed in resolving all issues through dialogue and in an atmosphere of peace, the Union Minister said. ''It was not only at Prime Minister level but also at ministerial, diplomatic and secretary level that dialogue between the two countries was initiated. ''Not only Srinagar-Muzzafarabad road, but Poonch-Rawalakot road was also thrown open for people to people contact and starting of trade, so that economy of the state which received heavy jolts during last 20 years could get new boost through this free trade between the two countries via these routes,'' Mr Azad said.

However, Pakistan has always adopted double policy and continued to encourage terrorists attack in one form or the other, he lamented.

''Whatever is happening in Pakistan is direct consequence of wrong policy of their army and rulers,'' the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said.

''The Pakistan rulers created Frankenstein monster and made their country epicentre of terror two decades before and now they are facing same Frankenstein monster,'' he said.

He advised rulers of Pakistan to understand teh language of love and peace and reciprocate, help in creating peaceful atmosphere in the entire subcontinent.
