India Jarkhar boys rain goals in Junior Nehru Hockey
Government Senior Secondary School, Jarkhar in Ludhiana District blanked Veeramamuniwar Government High School of Pondicherry 26-0 to oust NCC A from the 38th ATS Junior Nehru Under-17 Hockey Tournament being played here today. The Ludhiana school required 25 goals to pip NCC A on better goal everage. NCC A had scored 26 goals and conceded one while Jarkhar have 27 goals in their favour and none against in pool F. For Gagandeep Singh spearheaded Jarkhar school and scored 11 goals. Gagandeep Junior and Karanbir contributed six goals each. Daljit Singh scored three goals to swell the Jarkhar Schools tally. In a pool E match, St Anthony High School, Monte Guirim, Bardez of Goa defeated Government Higher Secondary School, Kalpi Mandia (MP) by two second-half goals. Anant Purkhe (45th) and Lourenco (13th) were the scorers.
