Neha, Anjum partnership helps Delhi to beat J&K eves in NZ cricket
Jammu | Thursday, Nov 5 2009 IST

A hundred run partnership between Neha Tanwar and Anjum Chopra helped Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) to defeat Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) by a massive nine wickets in North Zone Inter-State Womens limited overs tournament played at GGM Science College Hostel Grounds here today.

DDCA lost an early wicket in Latika Kumari, who scored just one run when she was caught by Anju on a quick delivery from JKCA skipper Roopali Slathia.

However, the second-wicket partnership of hundred runs between Indian womens team cricketer Anjum Chopra and Neha Tanwar clinched nine-wicket victory against JKCA in 22.5 overs.

Neha made unbeaten 41 runs off 74 deliveries with three boundaries while Anjum too remained not out for 57 runs off 63 balls with the help of seven boundaries.

Earlier batting first after winning the toss, JKCA scored 126 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 47 overs.

Payal Choudhray was the top scorer with 58 (7x4) runs off 125 balls while JKCA captain Roopali Slathia was the second highest with 18 runs (2x4) from 47 balls.

Meanwhile for DDCA, Reema Malhotra claimed three wickets and Ambika Thakural scalped two.

JKCA has already lost to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and would now meet Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) here on November 9.
