Assam chase 296 for an elusive victory against Rajasthan

Assam is chasing 296 for an outright victory against Rajasthan in their Ranji trophy Plate group as pitch of the Railway Stadium is already crumbling and Assam has a history of very poor cheers.

As the bowlers once again dominated the proceedings an the third day today on trot, Rajasthan folded their innings at 256 thanks to an unbeaten century from V A Saxena and some top order spirited batting by A S Lamba (41).

But as speedster Abu Naseer Ahmed (5/57 and Arlen Konwar 4/72) ran through the Rajasthan innings, it was quite evident that Mumbai import Amal Muzumdar and Dhiraj Yadav have to bring out their best tomorrow to overhaul the Rajasthan innings which looks like an impossible task.
