IIT-Kanpur non-teaching staff on strike

The non-teaching staff of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, IIT-Kanpur, went on a day's strike today to press for their demands regarding pay parity.

As many as 700 employees of the non-teaching staff went on the strike, asking for the implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations, the institute sources said.

Official work remained affected the whole day long due to the protest.
