Another batch of 401 Hajis from J&K leaves for Jeddah in two flights

As many as 401 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir today left for Jeddah to perform Hajj-2009.

Official sources said here that the pilgrims left for Jeddah from Srinagar International Airport in two flights.

More than 7500 pilgrims from the Jammu and Kashmir will perform haj this year. With this, 6785 pilgrims, including women and children, had left for Jeddah since the commencement of the departure of pilgrims on October 20. Meanwhile, a total of 21 Indian pilgrims, including three from Jammu and Kashmir, died in the holy cities of Mecca and Madina since the pilgrims started arriving there from October 20.

Reports reaching here said that highest 7 pilgrims of Uttar Pradesh followed by three each from Jammu and Kashmir and Tamil Nadu and two each from Kerala, Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal have died, mostly due to heart attack.
