Four students killed, as many injured in road mishap
Anantapur | Thursday, Nov 5 2009 IST

Four school children were killed and as many injured when an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus ploughed into a group of children at Nayapalli Cross Road, about 25 kms from here, while trying to avoid a tipper coming from the opposite direction today.

Three children died on the spot while another breathed his last while being shifted to District Hospital, police said. Highway Police Patrol Vehicles shifted the injured school children to hospital where the condition of at least two others was stated to be critical.

The children were waiting on the roadside to board the APSRTC bus for their school as usual, when the mishap occurred.

The APSRTC bus was bound to Cuddapah from Anantapur.
